    @jeffpicks I;m not even going to dignify this with a response. Suffice to say, I cant teach electrical theory in 400 characters. I’ve got my degree stating that I’m qualified, how ’bout you?

  2. jeffpicks says:

    @wo0obly How do you know he’s fine? were you there?

  3. jeffpicks says:

    @djscurge Yeah, maybe yer an EE, but it’s not the current in the LINE that kills, it’s the current that passes through the BODY! And further, it’s the VOLTAGE in the line that causes current to flow, the higher the voltage, the more current, given the resistance of a human body.

    If I were the mayor of that town, I’d call the power company and tell them not to turn the power off, and tell that crackhead to touch the wire so no honest ppl’s lives are risked…

  10. djscurge says:

    @wo0obly The the current in a HV power line, even @ 50kV, is more than sufficient to be fatal. The current depends on what is on down the line, but typically is over several kA. Currents over 0.1A are usually fatal. Shocks of that magnitude damage electrical pathways in the brain causing symptoms such as memory loss, odd sensations such as a taste of metal, ringing in the ears, vision “floaters” and other cognitive degradation. did he die?

  12. wo0obly says:

    @djscurge he is fine. he’s not disabled, it really depends on how many amps were in that line, there what kill you.

  13. djscurge says:

    once again, good hard working people seriously injured or killed trying to save a worthless drug addicted idiot. Now that lineman probably is permanently disabled, despite the “minor injuries” the announcer claimed. That kinda power messes stuff up in your head. And that addict is free to go on and make more crack babies to do that same thing to future generations of hard working citizens. Also, never trust a “dead” line, always check it yourself no matter who tells you its dead.

    @Thetruthhurtstheleft It BUG me when people talk with SOME CAPS WORDS but not others. I KNOW how electricity WORKS, and I already KNEW THAT!! =_=

  15. LiLSikBoi says:

    guy1: hey, ching pow, grab that wire for me
    guy2: ok *grabs
    ZAPFUCKINGBOOM

  16. Thetruthhurtstheleft says:

    @SlimySnail44
    It is the VOLTS that cause the AMPERAGE to rise through a given RESISTANCE. Why do people always try to act like they know something by bringing up the AMPERAGE issue. It only shows how much the THINK they know is not in line with how little they know. The flask and burn here are evidence of serious AMPERAGE. It only take 100ma to kill !

  25. Chirimorin1 says:

    @SpitTanker did you actually listen?
    He was treated for minor injuries
    Death isn’t a minor injury so he didn’t die.
